Do you like getting off the beaten track? Ever wondered what it would be like to see the word from an animals point of view?

Well, here is your chance to do both!

Join Aaron Lish, Caetani Fresh AIR Artist in Residence from the US, with his participatory art project.

Think Like an Animal! Participatory Environmental Art Project

Saturday, July 19, 6 – 8:30 pmUsing GPS tracking systems, participants will go on a self-guided interpretive hike and become part of a larger investigation into the behaviour of our favourite wild animals by “becoming” one and tracking their movements. The results will be printed out onto paper and included in a larger final art piece. This workshop is designed for both artists and non-artists of any level and no experience is necessary. Caetani would just like to get a reading of possible numbers to expect, there is no charge for this project.

Astronomy Night with RASC @ Allan Brooks Nature Centre

Have you ever wanted to learn about far off galaxies?

Come and explore the cosmos with the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (RASC) telescopes!

Look up on the hill and into the stars. Allan Brooks Nature Centre (ABNC) and the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (RASC) will be holding an Astronomy night on Saturday, July 26th starting at 8 pm – 11:00 pm.  View planets like Mars, Uranus, Saturn, Jupiter, deep-sky objects, or see the moon up close! Bring your own telescope/binoculars or use one available on site.

Admission is by donation. This is a very popular event and is held regularly weather permitting. Come early to get the best viewing spot, parking is available on site!

Movie Night – Legend of the Guardians- The Owls of Ga’Hoole

Tuesday 29th Movie – Legend of the Guardians- The Owls of Ga’Hoole

Young owl Soren marvels at his father’s epic stories of the Guardians of Ga’Hoole, mythic winged warriors who fought a great battle to save all owl kind from the evil Pure Ones. When he and brother Kludd fall from their treetop home and into the talons of the Pure Ones, it’s up to Soren to make a daring escape with the help of other brave owls.

Movie nights will be showing on an outdoor screen every Tuesday evening at the Centre!
