Summer Camps
All programs run from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Mornings only are offered due to the afternoon heat.
FEES: Non Members: $20 per child Members $ 15 per child per morning session

2011 Kids Summer Morning Camps 9 am to Noon
Monday or Wednesday Ages 4-5, Tuesday Ages 6-7, Thursday Ages 8-10
Our Programs offer hands on nature experiences in a fun learning environment. Each session is customized for the age group indicated.
Marmot Mania: July 4-7
Become a biologist and study the marmots, their behaviour, habitat and social structure. Record your observations. Go on a scavenger hunt, play games, and make a marmot art project to take home.
Bugs, Butterflies and Bees: July 11-14
Discover the amazing miniature world of insects and how they benefit humans. Go on a scavenger hunt, play games, and make your own cool insect finger puppet and magnet to take home!
Pond Critters: July 18-21
Study the insect life in ABNC’s pond, and learn about this miniature food chain! Collect water samples, and investigate with magnifying glasses and insect identification wheels. Make an art project to take home.
Radical Raptors: July 25-29
Learn about the raptors (birds of prey) in BC, and especially in the Okanagan! Find out how they fly, and make your own raptor glider to take home. Whose will fly the fastest and furthest? Dissect an owl pellet or make an owl mask
Super Spy Animal Tracks: Aug. 2-4
Go to Spy School and become a master spy using all your super spy senses and skills. Know a bird just by its sound, and an animal just by its track. Conduct a crime scene investigation! Make a plaster cast of your own track.
Nature Savers: Aug 8-11
Learn about the sensitive ecosystems right in your own back yard. Why do plants and animals need our help. Learn what you can do to help save our planet. Build a Bee Bath for your yard. Become a certified Nature Super Saver.
Be Bear Aware: Aug 15-18
Distinguish between black bears and grizzly bears. Learn about bear safety, and how to be ‘bear aware’. Play a fun outdoor bear game and make an art project to take home.
Snakes Alive: Aug 22-25
Sssss….Snakes are fascinating! Learn the truth about our often misunderstood, slithery cousins – where they live, their life cycle, which are venomous and which are not. Go on a scavenger hunt, play games, and make your own snake to take home!

Instructions for parents:
- Program will go ahead, rain or shine – come prepared for the weather!
- Wear supportive walking shoes
- Bring a hat, jacket, water bottle and healthy snack
- Apply sunblock before bringing your child to camp
- Parents welcome to remain with child
- Please call to cancel if unable to attend
