Allan Brooks Nature Centre has plans developed to complete a number of enhancements at the nature centre during the winter 2015 but we cannot do it without you. Please consider the ways in which you can support ABNC as we re-imagine nature education for the next generation. With your support we will engage youth and general public in new and innovative ways. We have an exceptional Nature Centre built on tremendous grass-roots support that we’ve received from our community.
Success of the Nature Centre Renewal campaign, which aims to raise $25,000, will allow us to revitalize the nature centre, enhance public access to our programs and further improve one’s overall experience at ABNC. With plans for new guest services amenities, additional exhibit space, including and new feature tribute to Major Allan Brooks, refurbished Habitat and Discovery Rooms, as well as complete an upgraded to our roadway.
- A grant from the BC Tire Stewardship Association was awarded to ABNC to cover up to half the costs to install recycled rubber flooring in the Habitat and Discovery rooms. So, our goal (in part) is to match this grant while we raise $25,000 to complete much needed upgrades to the nature centre.
Because of people like you who believe the Allan Brooks Nature Centre is a project worth investing in, we have a tremendous community asset that allows us to continue to increase access to nature education for children, grow our programs and opportunities for general public to learn about and connect with nature and do more with the money that we raise.
We welcome your support to see this campaign a success and your interest to see these plans completed in Spring 2015. Contact Aaron [email protected] or 250.542.5122 for more information.
