The Allan Brooks Nature Centre is open Tuesday–Sunday (Closed Monday)
from 9 am to 4 pm from May 1 to Thanksgiving.

Morning Camp Programs

All programs run from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Mornings only are offered due to the afternoon heat.

Marmot Mania
Tuesday  July 6 (4–6 yrs), Thursday  July 8 (7-10 yrs)
See the marmots before they go into hibernation! Learn about the marmots, their habitat and social structure. Make a marmot art project to take home.

Bugs, Butterflies & Bees
Thursday July 13 (4-6 yrs), Thursday July 15 (7-10 yrs)
Discover the amazing miniature world of insects and how they benefit humans.  Play in a Puppet Show. Make an art project to take home.

Pond Critters!
Tuesday August 3 (4-6 yrs), Thursday August 5 (7-10 yrs)
Study the insect life in ABNC’s pond, and learn about this miniature food chain! Collect water samples, and investigate with magnifying glasses and insect identification wheels. Make an art project to take home.

Become a Bear Expert!
Tuesday August 10 (4-6 yrs), Thursday August 12 (7-10 yrs)
Distinguish between black bears and grizzly bears. Learn about bear safety, and what to do if you encounter a bear. Play a bear game and make an art project to take home.

Snakes Alive!
Tuesday July 20 (4-6 yrs), Thursday July 22 (7-10 yrs)
Sssss….Snakes are fascinating! Learn the truth about our often misunderstood, slithery cousins – where they live, their life cycle, which are venomous and which are not. Make a snake mobile to take home.

Remarkable Raptor Flyers
Tuesday July 27 (4-6 yrs), Thursday July 29 (7-10 yrs)
Learn about the raptors (birds of prey) in BC, and especially in the Okanagan! Find out how they fly, and make your own raptor glider to take home. Whose will fly the fastest and furthest?

Super Spy - Animal Tracks
Tuesday August 17 (4-6 yrs) Thursday August 19 (7-10 yrs)
Go to Spy School and become a master spy using all your super spy senses and skills. Know a bird just by its sound. Know an animal just by its track. Go on a “Mission Impossible” and use the “Cone of Silence” to confer with other Master Spies and locate a suspect.
